It was growing all over another plant, showing its need for support. Another plant used for the feeling of being in need of energy to survive in difficult conditions was a pink pig face (Carpobrotus rosii karkalla) with a small flower head. This plant was growing on the side of a cliff, subjected to wind and sea air, with barely enough soil to dig its roots into. Its thick leaves contained a gelatinous substance, allowing it to survive with little water. This plant was definitely surviving in harsh conditions! So its energy may well help other do the same.
